CCB Sperm Donors & Parental Rights
What Are Your Parental Rights as a CCB Sperm Donor?
If you are concerned about your parental rights as a sperm donor, we encourage you to learn more about becoming a sperm donor via a sperm bank. Here are some things you should know about California Cryobank and how sperm donors are protected:
- Contracts for the purchase and use of donor sperm are made between California Cryobank and our clients; thus, no contract directly occurs between recipient and donor
- Our sperm donors sign a legal document waiving all parental rights and responsibilities to children conceived from the purchase from their sperm
- By signing a contract with us, the donor is exempt from child support or any other responsibilities of a legal parent; sperm donors may not participate in our program until this document has been signed
Interested in more information? Check out the California Uniform Parentage Act, Section #7613.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, we encourage you to contact our donor department at recruitment@cryobank.com.
